Jewellery Trends We’ve Seen So Far in 2026
Each year brings subtle shifts in jewellery design, customer preferences, and the types of pieces people are looking to create or purchase. So far in 2026, we’ve noticed several clear trends emerging in our workshop and showroom — from the continued love of yellow gold to the growing demand for coloured gemstones and jewellery remodelling.
The Continued Rise of Yellow Gold
One of the most noticeable trends this year is the strong return of yellow gold jewellery. While white gold and platinum have long been popular, many customers are now gravitating back toward the warmth and richness of yellow gold.
We’re seeing this across many categories — engagement rings, bracelets, necklaces, and statement earrings. Yellow gold offers a timeless look that works beautifully with both diamonds and coloured gemstones, and it pairs effortlessly with modern as well as classic designs. Many customers also enjoy how easily yellow gold pieces can be layered or stacked together for a refined yet contemporary style.
Jewellery Remodelling: Giving Old Pieces New Life
Another major trend we’ve seen throughout 2026 is the growing number of customers bringing in older or unused jewellery to be remodelled into new pieces.
Often these items carry significant sentimental value — inherited rings, old engagement rings, or jewellery that is no longer worn but still holds meaning. Rather than leaving these pieces sitting in a drawer, many clients are choosing to redesign them into something they can wear and enjoy every day.
Remodelling allows us to retain the original gemstones or gold while creating an entirely new design. It’s a rewarding process that blends sentimental history with modern craftsmanship, and it’s something our workshop has been doing more and more of this year.
Green Sapphires Growing in Popularity
Coloured gemstones continue to grow in popularity, and in particular we’ve seen strong interest in green sapphires.
Green sapphires offer a beautiful and unique alternative to traditional diamond engagement rings. Their rich tones range from soft olive greens to deeper forest shades, and they pair exceptionally well with both yellow and white gold settings.
Throughout the year we’ve been designing and crafting a number of green sapphire engagement rings, each one slightly different depending on the stone and the customer’s personal style. They provide a distinctive look while still maintaining the durability and elegance that sapphires are known for.
Rising Gold Prices
Another factor influencing jewellery purchasing this year is the continued rise in global gold prices. As the cost of gold increases, newly manufactured jewellery naturally becomes more expensive to produce.
For this reason, many customers are finding excellent value in our ready-made jewellery collections. Pieces that were created when gold prices were lower often represent particularly good buying opportunities compared with commissioning an entirely new item today.
While we continue to custom make jewellery for many clients, our showroom collections offer beautifully crafted pieces that can sometimes be more cost-effective in the current market.
Declining Interest in Lab-Grown Diamonds
One trend we’ve noticed moving in the opposite direction is the demand for lab-grown diamonds. Over the past year, interest in these stones has noticeably declined.
We are now very rarely asked about lab-grown diamonds, and we are seldom creating pieces with them for customers. Many buyers have begun to view them more as a manufactured or costume alternative rather than a natural gemstone with rarity and long-term value.
As a result, most of our clients continue to prefer natural diamonds, particularly for engagement rings and milestone jewellery, where authenticity and lasting value are important.
Looking Ahead
Jewellery trends always evolve, but the themes we’re seeing in 2026 reflect a strong appreciation for timeless materials, meaningful pieces, and individuality. Yellow gold, coloured gemstones like green sapphires, and the remodelling of sentimental jewellery all highlight a desire for pieces that feel personal and lasting.
Whether it’s redesigning an heirloom ring, selecting a unique gemstone, or choosing something special from our ready-made collections, we’re always pleased to help our customers find or create jewellery that will be worn and treasured for years to come.
